STRING LESSONS (for ages 4 and up) take place at NYMC and we are fortunate enough to have teachers in residence from prestigious conservatories who teach string instruments to students ages 4 and up. In music lessons at the New York Musician's Center, students can explore a variety of instruments, including the violin, viola, cello, and bass. In violin lessons, students will learn proper bowing techniques, how to read sheet music, and how to play different scales and songs. Viola lessons are similar to violin lessons but focus on a larger instrument with a deeper sound. Cello lessons will teach students how to properly hold the instrument, the correct hand and finger positions, and how to create a rich, resonant tone. Bass lessons will focus on learning the fundamentals of playing the upright bass, including proper finger placement, bowing technique, and how to read bass clef music. Overall, music lessons provide a fun and engaging way for students of all ages to explore their love of music and develop their skills on a chosen instrument.

WHAT DO YOU LEARN IN YOUR ONLINE MUSIC LESSONS?
This question is often asked by prospective students. At NYMC, we get it- we don't want to waste your money! You're going to learn while having fun and enjoy the experience along the way! Our teachers make it a priority to get to know you on a personal level and to become familiar with your personal musical needs and goals. We do not treat every student the same in terms of what and how we teach. A seven year old having their first guitar lesson will have very different needs than a fifty seven year old taking up piano for the 2nd time after having had lessons as a child. The main reason to choose NYMC as your music lesson provider, is that we are sensitive to the fact that every student is an individual. If you enroll here for lessons, we will work with you to make a plan that suits each student's needs.
